The best views of the bridge are from Horngasse, which spans the river slightly north. Nearby is the Augustinerkloster where Martin Luther lived from 1505 until 1511. The original 13th-century buildings were completely destroyed in 1945, but rebuilt in recent years. Most of it is used as a conference center, but the reconstructed Martin Luther cell, the lovely library, and other parts of the monastery can be seen. It is open from April to October, Monday to Saturday, 10 amto noon and 2 to 4 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm. From November to March, it is open Monday to Saturday from 10 am to noon, and 2 to 4 pm, Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm. Admission is Eruo 3.50 and i2 for a photography permit.
